Moving From Managing to Leading: The Women's Program at Babson

Women comprise an ever-growing source of managerial and senior executive talent. Yet, often women and companies find that career trajectories falter at key transition points. The best leaders don’t wait for their next promotion, but begin preparing for those transitions in advance.

Moving from Managing to Leading is designed for women who are ready to transition to a role with increased responsibility and visibility. Through this leadership development experience, you will:

  • Identify professional development opportunities, including negotiation skills, interpersonal dynamics, leading high-performance teams, and using finance as a leadership language
  • Build and strengthen critical networks and partnerships to support and enable your transition, including mentors, peer networks, and professional partnerships
  • Understand and leverage your organization's culture, structure, and processes to identify key opportunities that will increase your leadership potential
  • Develop a practical action plan as a result of your personal case study

More than one-third of our past program participants have been promoted or have transitioned into leadership roles.

Educators for this program include: Janelle Shubert (program co-director), Anne Donnellon (program co-director), Elaine Eisenman, Patricia Greene, Nan Langowitz, and Donna Stoddard. Our educators include additional faculty and industry practitioners.
